Breast Reduction

Do you shy away from physical activity because your breasts are too heavy? Women with overly large breasts often seek the help of a breast reduction surgeon to alleviate medical problems such as neck, shoulder and back pain. Dr. Voge heals patients’ physical ailments and emotional wounds caused by unwanted attention with reduction mammoplasty. Due to the medical problems associated with large breasts, reductions are sometimes covered by insurance.

Breast Reduction Procedure and Recovery

Breast reduction procedures are often considered reconstructive surgery because of the medical conditions associated with overly large breasts. Dr. Voge makes an incision in the breast where she removes extra tissue, fat and skin which add volume to the breasts. The nipple and areola will be positioned to create a more balanced body contour. When necessary, Dr. Voge will reduce enlarged nipples and eliminate stretch marks during surgery. The result is smaller, uplifted breasts.

Most women can return to normal activity within a week of breast reduction surgery. A support bra will aid in healing and minimize bruising. Although it may take up to a year for your incisions to fade, you will likely feel better about your new body shape almost immediately.
