Cosmetic Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

Do you or a loved one have prominent ears? Does the position of their ears create an appearance of facial imbalance or attract unwanted attention, or teasing?

Otoplasty can minimize the emotional impact caused by low self-esteem. Wichita’s Dr. Vanessa Voge performs cosmetic ear surgery on patients as young as 5 to reposition or resize the ears and help them naturally blend in to the rest of the face and head. Dr. Voge understands that choosing elective surgery can be a difficult decision concerning yourself or your child. She will walk you through the risks and benefits of ear surgery to help you make a decision that is right for you or your child’s physical and emotional well-being. Call 316-263-0234 today for a private consultation.

Ear Pinning Procedure and Recovery

During your consultation, Dr. Voge will examine the ears and assess how they fit your facial features. An individual treatment plan based on how the ears protrude could include repositioning the ears, earlobe reduction, pinning ears, removing extra cartilage or enhancing the ears’ shape.

Otoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure and usually takes about 2 hours. It requires minimal downtime. Most patients return to work or school within a week. Bandages should be worn continuously for about a week and at nighttime for about a month following surgery.
